The Beach Hebrew Institute Foundation is a nonprofit corporation and registered charity separate from the Beach Hebrew Institute (i.e. the Shul). The Foundation was created in response to the Shul building's designation under the Ontario Heritage Act, to assure that the building will remain in good repair. The Foundation solicits donations, invests, and provides monies for capital maintenance and improvements to the Shul building. Previous projects that benefitted from Foundation monies include a new roof, electrical upgrades, furnace repairs, and a new refrigerator for our historic Toronto synagogue.

A majority of the Foundation Board of Directors are the members of the Shul's Executive Committee. Funds are invested very conservatively, including in government instruments. Expenditures on capital maintenance and improvements are made only at the expressed request of the Shul Executive Committee.
